Origine du nom SLING.

Ci-dessous les explications d'Andrew (frère d'un des fondateurs de "The Airplane Factory"):

Mike & James ran a competition in a top local aviation magazine for the public to come up with a name. There were thousands of submissions but all either had been used before or Mike and James just didn't like. So the night before the magazine went to print James chose Sling for two reasons. 1- they were about to fly around the world and that lent to Slingshot around the globe,

2- Mike and James were the little guys up against Cirrus and Vans the giants, like David and Goliath. And David used a sling to sort out Goliath with one slingshot!

Mike & James ont organisé un concours dans un grand magazine d'aviation locale pour que le public puisse trouver un nom. Il y avait des milliers de soumissions, mais toutes avaient déjà été utilisées auparavant ou Mike et James n'ont pas aimé. Ainsi, la veille de l'impression du magazine, James a choisi Sling pour deux raisons. 1- ils étaient sur le point de voler autour du monde et cela a prêté à Slingshot autour du globe,

2- Mike et James étaient les petits gars contre Cirrus et Vans les géants, comme David et Goliath. Et David a utilisé une fronde pour terrasser Goliath!
